KAALAMELLAM KAATHIRUPPEN



Kaalamellam Kaathiruppen released in 1997, is a romantic movie starring Ilayathalapathi Vijay along with newcomer Dimple. The movie was directed by R. Sundarrajan and produced by M.G Sekar and S. Santhanam undr the banner of M.G Pictures. The film was made with a budget of 3.2 crore rupees but was not a commercial success. The film was released on 14 January 1997. Songs for this film were composed by Deva.
Vijay was very upset with the performance of his pair. He announced that he would no longer work with new faces as heroines.

STORYLINE
The story tells about the love a rich guy shows to a girl. Being the only son of rich parents Kannan spends lot of money enjoying with friends. One day he happens to see a girl singing beautifully from a temple. Being impressed by her performance Kannan asks the heroine Manimegalai to perform at the collage's cultural function in which he is studying. But Manimegalai refuses the offer. The irritating attempts Kannan do to make her sing causes Manimegalai to hate the hero. She gets him arrested for repeated teasing. But triggered by her action Kannan tries to marry the girl forcefully. But he fails in his attempts badly.
To forget all these past things and to start a new begining Manimegalai moves to Ooty and joins Raja's company. But Kannan follows her to apolagise to her. Manimagalai tries to make him leave Ooty. But the climax shows that Manimegalai can't stop herself from loving him.
