Kadhalukku Mariyadhai was released in 1997. It is the remake of director Fazil's super hit Malayalam romance movie "Aniyathi Pravu". It is a romantic movie, starring Vijay and Shalini as hero and heroine. And Sivakumar, Srividya and Manivannan playing the supporting roles. The film was a box office hit and completed 210 days of success full run. The film was produced by Sangili Murugan. The distributors was Aascar Films Pvt Ltd. The film was placed in Top 20 best films of Vijay and also in Top 20 best love stories in Tamil by Behindwoods.
Vijay got Tamil Nadu state film award for Best Actor for his performance in this movie.

STORYLINE
Jeeva(Vijay) falls in love with Mini(Shalini). Their relationship is disliked by their families. Mini and Jeeva elope with the help of Vijay's friends Keshavan and Raghavan and stays in Keshavan's house. keshavan's father arranges register marriage but the lovers did not want to bring shame to their parents and families. At the same time their parents tried to overcome the shame by trying to marry their children to the person they wish. By realizing the value of their parents Jeeva and Mini went back to their on home. this arrival cause a change in their parents mind. They allow them to marry. movie ends in a successful climax.
