Thamizhan is a 2002 Tamil romantic thriller directed by A. Majeeth and produced by G. Venkateswaram. This film was Majeeth's first venture as a director. The film features Vijay and Priyanka Chopra in the lead roles. This was Priyanka Chopra's debut as a lead actress. The high budget film was made with around 11.5 crore rupees and was released on 12 April 2002. The soundtracks for the film was composed by D. Imman.

STORYLINE
The film is about the story of a lawyer named Surya and the hardships he faces when he tries to do his duties in the right way. Surya's brother-in-law is also a lawyer but he gets killed in the process of upholding justice. Meanwhile Surya falls in love with Priya. After the death of Shakthivel, his wife also dies at the hands of criminals. He then starts fighting for his rights. The story ends up with Vijay taking revenge upon his enemies.
