Vishnu is the sixth film of Vijay. The film was directed by S.A Chandrasekhar and produced by M. Bhasker and B. Balaji Prabhu under the banner of Oscar Movies National. The 180 minutes film was released on 17 August, 1995. Sanghvi, one of the popular heroine of that time was the heroine of Vijay in this film. Music direction was done by Deva, one of the popular music director of the time.This commercial successful romantic comedy film was later dubbed in Telugu as Mr.Hari Krishna and in Hindi as Jeeta.

STORYLINE
The story begins with Vishnu, an extroverted child. But his father restricts him from everything he do. His father needed his child to grow as a timid guy. But Vishnu being enthusiastic and an exploring guy wishes to escape from his father's over-protection. So he leaves home and goes to work in an estate claiming that he is an orphan. The estate owner adopts Vishnu as his son and makes him his right hand. Vishnu become a young and handsome man under his adopted father. Meanwhile Vishnu fell in love with Radha.
One day the estate owner shows some photographs and asks Vishnu to kill the people in the photograph who ruined his family. To show his affection towards his adopted father Vishnu agrees to do that but he was shocked on seeing his father Thangadurai in the photograph. The film ends up with how Vishnu tackles this problem.
