LOVE TODAY

Love today(1997) is a romantic movie written and directed by Balasekaran, who made his debut venture. As the name implies, this is a love story starring Vijay and Suvalakshmi in the lead roles. This film did well at the box office and produced positive reviews from critics. Movie was remade into Telugu as "Suswagatham", starring Pawan Kalyan and Devayani. The movie was produced by R.B Choudary and Distribution was done by Super Good Film company.

STORYLINE

Ganesh is a college student who has been in love with Sandhya for 3 years. But he didn't ever informed her girl about his feelings. Chandrasekhar is a good company for his son Ganesh and supports him for everything he does. But the heroine's father is very anxious about her daughter and is always suspicious about whether she has a love affair. Sandhya takes self promise that she would never fall in love with any one. Her only aim is to achieve a gold medal in her studies.

One day Ganesh happen to see Sandhya in a bus stop and falls in love at first sight. He follow her daily at the bus stop. He makes several attempts through his friends to make her love him. But all ideas go in vain.

Meanwhile her father Vasudhevan happens to hear about this incident. He then uses physical force on Ganesh and verbally abuses Sandhya. These incidents makes Sandhya leave the Town.

Ganesh rome around in search of his lover. Meanwhile his father dies in an accident. Ganesh's friends search for him all around but they couldnot find him. After few days Ganesh return to his home knowing about the incident, feeling heart brokened and do the cremation for his father's soul.  

At that point of time Sandhya realises her love for Ganesh and tell him that she need to spend the rest of her life with Ganesh. Next day, Sandhya waits for Ganesh at the same bus stop but Ganesh go for attending an interview for which his father has recommended him for the job.
