NINAITHEN VANDHAI



Ninaithen Vandhai is a Tamil romantic film directed by K. Selva Bharathy and produced by Allu Aravind. The film was released on 10 April, 1998 and was a commercial hit at the box office. Vijay , Rambha and Devayani acted as the lead characters for the movie. The story of the movie was written by Sathyanand. The film was made under the banner of Vyjayanthi Movies and was distributed by Geetha Arts. About 4.2 crore rupees was spent in the making of this 165 minutes film.

The songs were composed by popular music director Deva. The songs were at the top of the chart at that time. Lyrics were written by Palani Bharathi, K. Selva Bharathy and Vaali.
The movie begins with hero (Gokulan Krishnan) dreaming about a girl. The only thing which he remember about the girl in the dream is a mole situated next to her navel. He then tries to find his 'Dream girl' with the help of his uncle and cousins. Gokulan's father compel him to marry a village girl Savithri (Gokulan is her Marital uncle). Gokulan opposes his father's decision, but Savithri loves him a lot.
Later Gokulan unexpectedly finds his dream girl Swapna at a wedding where he spot the mole on her navel. He then tries to impress her by singing but she leaves abruptly. Later both fall in love. Gokulan tries to stop his marriage with Savithri, this is where the twist comes, Swapna arrives to their village and it is revealed that Swapna and Savithri are sisters. Later Swapna overhears a conversation between Savithri's father and Gokulan in which Gokulan tells her father that he don't want to marry Savithri. Knowing how much her sister loves him, Swapna sacrifices her love by lying to Gokalan that she has blood clot in heart. After a lot of persuation Gokulan agrees to marry Savithri. When Vignesh reveal that he loves Swapna and want to marry her, Swapna says she will not marry anyone but Gokulan. After hearing this Savithri let Swapna marry Gokulan...
