Kushi is a romantic film directed by S. J. Surya and produced by A.M. Rathnam. The lead roles were played by Vijay and Jyothika . The supporting roles were played by Vivek, Mumtaj and Vijayakumar. The film was released on May 2000 and music done by Deva. The film was distributed by Sri Surya Movies. The film was remarked as a blockbuster, and it was remaked in many other languages.The story was written by the director S. J. Surya himself.

STORYLINE

The film starts when Shiva and Jenny were born. They were born in different states of India and they meet as babies. They were seperated as their parents left. They were in their childhood representing their home town but they couldn't talk to each other. Ten years later , Jenny wants to get her higher studies, but her father wants her to be married. After repeated compulsions she agrees for the marriage but on the night of her wedding her groom elopes with her lover. After this incident her father sends her for higher education. 

Shiva also turns into the same college as he gets into an accident and has to give up his dream of studying in Canada. Shiva and Jenny meets in the temple and they introduces themselves. They had to meet again and again as Babu (friend of Shiva) and Shanthi (friend of shanthi ) were in love.They had many misunderstandings and heated arguments between them. They tried to forget what had happened in their life and try to join Babu with Santhi. At the end they join each other and live happily.
